It’s that time of year again!
This season has a way of all-of-the-sudden being here and now the exciting yet overwhelming (mostly for students) start to a new school year is here.
What will be different for you as a parent this year?
Take some time to reflect on this. Do not let the excuses of being busy or tired stop you from making the relationship with your child a top priority.
Here’s the goal – make it better than last year!
You are the consistency to their ever changing and demanding life as a student.
You are the one who has the most influence in their life!
Remember, the kids that most need love and attention will ask for it in the most unlovable ways.
Here are a few suggestions to help you navigate through this next season:
- Choose conversation over confrontation.
- Ask questions – keep asking questions.
- If it hurts, you are doing a great job! – pain is part of growth.
- Create and schedule a plan to do things together.
- Make a point to recharge (personally).
“The greatest work that you will ever do will be within the walls of your home.”
