This week’s challenge: Make a decision to choose joy.
It’s easy to focus on the negative. Things we don’t like about ourselves and those around us. When we focus on someone else’s shortcomings (which is so easy to do b/c we all have many), what really happens is a mirror placed in front of us. Others bring out in us who we really are…the good, the difficult and the areas that need attention.
Now is the time to choose for choosing a joyful, cheerful and happy approach at life. Though we are broken we are not defeated. This is the hope that gives us the courage to embrace the challenges before us. Just as light cannot be truly appreciated without darkness, true joy cannot be experienced without sorrow.
We have the gift of today to be shaped, loved, forgiven and sent out to do the same for others.
