Garbage day

In most neighbourhoods there is a time every week when we must take out the trash. It’s garbage day! The evening before that day, most of us go around the house knowing where every garbage can is, so we may empty it and take it to where it belongs.

What about us?

The challenge this week is to begin a weekly plan to empty (let go of, forgive, say no, say sorry etc.) out the garbage.

It’s a time for us to reflect on what we have done and see how people and circumstances have affected us.

If we didn’t take out the garbage in our homes, eventually it would become a very unpleasant and unhealthy place to be. How much more do we require a weekly plan to ’take out’ the things that do not help us become the woman/man God created us to be.

Schedule this in and put it in your calendar; one suggestion is to schedule it on the same day you already do this chore: it can also become a prayer.

Have a great week!

Verse of the week:

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10
