Everyday we are faced with new challenges, demanding schedules, routines and many different kinds of people. We have an opportunity to find out our unique assignment for the day and complete that mission. This is not meant to be another to-do item, but rather a way to keep us aware of what and who is around us as we go about our day.
The challenge this week is to take some time every morning in the classroom of silence and ask God for your unique assignment for the day. It may be as simple as a specific conversation you are supposed to have or to anonymously help someone who has been placed on your heart.
Here are some suggestions for this assignment:
- Start your day with the question, God, what is my unique assignment today? We suggest doing this in the morning before you get into the routine of your day.
- Finish your day answering the question, how did I do? This is not meant to be something that gets you down, but a strategy to learn ways how you can be a light to and for others… and actually make it happen.
Your mission if you choose to accept it, is to get your assignment and respond to that mission with faith, trust and generosity.
Verse of the week:
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
