Sitting in an open room with high ceilings might intrigue the easily distracted person by making loud obnoxious noises, and laughing at the ongoing echoes that bounce back. There is much truth in this image.
Did you know that by the time you were a teenager it is estimated that you have heard the words ‘No’ or ‘Don’t’ over 17,000 times?
Eventually the things that are echoed back to us through words, glances or attitudes will begin to take root.
These are the echoes this Access Point is about.
The challenge this week is to reflect on how your words and actions have echoed to those around you. Have they been full of hope and encouragement, or negative and doubtful? Make a decision this week to echo hope and encouragement in everything you say and do.
Here are some things to think about:
Who do you allow to speak into your life?
How are you building up those who look up to you?
What/Who do you need create a healthy boundary around?
Who do you need to forgive or ask forgiveness from?
Verse of the week:
Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;
keep watch over the door of my lips.
